January 25, 1936 ~ November 22

Mary Martha (Scottie) Lofton, passed away November 22, 2020 of complications after heart failure. She was 84, or as she would want us to say, two months shy of 85!  She was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.  She found strength in her love of God. She was extremely kind and giving and made friends wherever she went.  She will be dearly missed.

Born in Dallas, TX on January 25, 1936 Scottie later met and married her high school sweetheart, Sam Lofton December 1, 1956.  They moved to OKC then to Overland Park, KS in 1962 to raise their family. Scottie worked for over twenty years in medical records at Marillac, a facility that helps kids with behavioral and mental health issues. She loved cooking, was an avid reader and when she could, she loved go bowling.

Most recently Scottie lived at John Knox Village in Lee’s Summit, MO where she made some wonderful new friends.  We want to acknowledge and thank her friends who unselfishly helped her with encouragement, compassion and support over the years.

Scottie is survived by her three children, Greg, Lisa & Brett; her grandchildren Kirsten, Samantha and Carter II; great-grandchildren Hannah, Alexander, Gabriel and Remington. She was predeceased by her husband Sam, her father Mingo Scott, mother Martha Marie Brown, and her grandparents.

Scottie will rest in peace at Resurrection Cemetery in Overland Park.  A service will be announced soon.
