Email sent to LSR7 Parents and Guardians tonight.

Jan. 5, 2021

Dear LSR7 Parents and Guardians:

At a special Board of Education meeting this evening, Board Members determined that all LSR7 students in grades pre-K through 6 who have chosen to learn in-person this semester will attend in-person classes full-time starting on Monday, Jan. 11, 2021.

The Board voted 6-1 to send all elementary students back to full-time, in-person learning (five days a week for K-6; four days for pre-K).

Tonight’s determination follows the Board of Education’s November decision to determine on Jan. 5 whether pre-K-3 learners should shift out of virtual learning on Jan. 11. Last month, the Board decided at a work session to include grades 4-6 in tonight’s discussion.

As a reminder, all individuals who are in quarantine or isolation due to COVID-19, as well as any individuals who are experiencing COVID-19 symptoms should stay home, in accordance with Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and school district guidance.

This decision does not impact families who have chosen to learn through the R-7 Online Academy for the remainder of the school year. R-7 Online Academy students will continue online learning from home.

The Board of Education will discuss when grades 7-12 in-person learners will shift out of virtual learning at a special meeting on Jan. 14. Any determinations the Board makes that night would take effect starting on Jan. 25, 2021.

Thank you in advance for your cooperation and support. Additional information about this transition will be shared this week.

Executive Director of Public Relations
