Paul O’Dean “Dean” Durham, 87, Lee’s Summit, Missouri, passed away January 8, 2021.

Funeral services held at 11:00 AM, Monday, January 18, 2021 at Lee’s Summit Community Church, 1440 SW Jefferson St, Lees Summit, Missouri. Graveside services will follow at Lee’s Summit Historical Cemetery, Lee’s Summit, Missouri

Dean was born in Ava, Missouri on July 2, 1933. He was a home builder for many years throughout the Kansas City Area. A resident of Lee’s Summit with his wife Glenna. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and all sports. He was very involved in the lives of his family. Dean very much enjoyed attending all of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren sporting events.

If you ever were ever around Side-Pockets in Lee’s Summit you would have heard of his reputation as a pool shooter. In fact he once played against Willie Mosconi while in the U S Army. In fact his tour of duty included playing basketball for the Army. Another famous pool player was from his home town of Ava, Fast Eddie Parker. Not sure if they ever played against him, but Dean had a story about Fast Eddie.

During his years in Lee’s Summit he accumulated many friends and associates. Dean had a strong belief in Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. He will be sorely missed by family and friends.

Dean was preceded in death by: his wife, Glenna B Durham; Brothers, Freeman, Dink and Lee; sisters, Ruby Sherill, Leota Arnold, Lois Hargiss, Glenda Jones, and Bernice Barton.

Survivors include: step daughter, Vicky Hartman and husband, Jim; three grandchildren, Kevin Hartman and wife, Pam, Kristy Knox and husband, Jim, Kelly Trekel and husband, Ken, nine great grandchildren and several cousins and many nieces and nephews.

Memorial contributions may be made to Lees Summit Community Church.
