Dear LSR7 Parents and Guardians:

Tonight, the Board of Education held a special meeting to determine whether LSR7 students in grades 7-12 who have chosen to learn in-person should shift out of virtual learning starting on Monday, Jan. 25, 2021.

The Board of Education voted 6-1 for all in-person middle and high school learners to shift to a hybrid model on Jan. 25 and then move to a four-days-a-week in-person learning model starting on Feb. 8, 2021.

The special meeting tonight was prompted by the Board of Education’s November decision to decide on Jan. 14 whether grades 7-12 learners should shift out of virtual learning at the beginning of the second semester.

Earlier this month, the Board determined that grades pre-K-6 students will learn in a full-time, in-person model.

Neither Board decision impacts families who have chosen to learn through the R-7 Online Academy for the remainder of the school year.

We know that there will be significant questions about these transitions. We will communicate additional information associated with this new Board-approved determination as quickly and thoroughly as we can in the coming days and weeks.

Best,

Katy Bergen
