Wednesday evening LSFD Station 5 responded to assist Animal Control with a dog that had fallen through the ice on Raintree Lake.

Personnel wearing cold water exposure suits and a using rapid deployment inflatable rescue craft, were able to reach the dog, which was approximately 25 feet off shore.

Once removed, personnel placed the dog in the back of Med 5 to dry it off and warm up until the owner arrived. Quick, effective work by Company 5-B.

Just a reminder, do not go out on the ice to attempt to rescue a person or an animal, call 911.
