Claire Franciskato, a senior at Lee’s Summit High School, was selected to receive a $2,500 STAR Scholarship from the P.E.O. Sisterhood. She was recommended by P.E.O. Chapter NG of Lee’s Summit, Missouri.

Franciskato is president of the Lee’s Summit High School Student Senate, captain of the Tigerettes Varsity Dance Team and serves on the Truman Heartland Foundation Youth Advisory Council as a team leader for her school. In addition to participating in many extracurricular activities, she is the recipient of numerous awards for her extraordinary high school achievement.

She is the daughter of Stacy and Brian Franciskato. She will be graduating in May, 2021 and has been accepted to and will be attending Iowa State University this fall majoring in linguistics and will pursue the Speech and Language Pathology/ Audiology Pre-Professional Program for her undergraduate program. Claire is planning to become a Speech and Language Pathologist (SLP) with her specialty focusing on aural rehabilitation.

The P.E.O. STAR Scholarship was established in 2009 to provide scholarships for exceptional high school senior women to attend an accredited postsecondary educational institution in the U.S. or Canada in the next academic year. The competitive STAR Scholarship is for women who exhibit excellence in leadership, academics, extracurricular activities, community service and potential for future success.
