Legacy for Parks Foundation, Inc. is celebrating its selection as a beneficiary of the Hy‐Vee Reusable Bag Program that supports local non‐profits.
The Hy‐Vee Reusable Bag program, which launched in November 2019, is a reusable bag program that facilitates community support with the goal of making a difference in the communities its’ customers live and work.
Legacy for Parks Foundation, Inc. was selected as the January 2022 beneficiary of the program by store leadership at the 3rd Street and Ward Road Location in Lee’s Summit, Missouri. Legacy for Parks Foundation, Inc. will receive a $1 donation each time a $2.50 red “My Heart” reusable bag is purchased at this location during the month of January, unless otherwise directed by the customer through the Giving Tag attached to the bag.
The Legacy for Parks Foundation, Inc. is a volunteer driven, 501(c)(3) charitable organization based in Lee’s Summit, Missouri, whose mission is to enhance the quality of life for the people of Lee’s Summit through the stewardship of resources to develop, improve, and preserve Lee’s Summit Parks and Recreation. As an example of its’ impact to the parks and recreation system in the community the Foundation recently committed $20,000 in financial support to the next large scale LSPR renovation project at Pleasant Lea Park, a neighborhood park located in central Lee’s Summit. The financial support provided by the Foundation not only affords LSPR the opportunity to enhance the offerings planned for the park, but also assisted the Department in securing a Land Water Conservation Act grant to further underwrite project costs, resulting in savings of tax dollars for Department use in other areas.
