After playing in just 18 games last season, Koletrane Wilson is back this season to help the Kansas City Mavericks return to the playoffs.
This talented defenseman spent time with both the Mavericks and their AHL affiliate the Stockton Heat. Traner, as he is called by his teammates has already seen action in over 30 games with the Mavericks in the 2021-22 season and received one call up to Stockton.
Wilson’s favorite pro sports team is the NHL’s Edmonton Oilers due to the Oilers being his hometown team. Traner hails from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Edmonton is where his mom, dad and an older brother root him on from home. Wilson also enjoys that his grandparents are able to watch his career progress.
Traner’s favorite hockey memory so far is when he played in the Western Hockey League. It was back in the 2018-19 season when Wilson helped his team advance all the way to the third round of the playoffs. Traner admits he first put on a pair of skates at age three. Wilson’s favorite website to visit daily is Netflix.
If not in pro hockey today Traner believes he would be a police officer back home like his dad. Wilson’s favorite foods include ice cream and a good steak. Traner’s favorite sports movie is the baseball themed “42.” Following his playing days Wilson wishes to be remembered as a guy who was mean on the ice and worked hard.
Check out Traner and the rest of the Mavericks when they return home on Tuesday February 1st to host the Tulsa Oilers. The fun begins inside Cable Dahmer Arena when the puck drops at 7:05 p.m.
