J31 Dance Center Competitive team, located in Lee’s Summit and comprised of students from the Lee’s Summit and Blue Springs area, dominated the nationally recognized dance competition, Dupree Dance, in St. Louis this past weekend.

Dupree’s adjudication break down is: Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Double Platinum and Diamond. J31 took eight dances to the competition, and came away with four diamond, two double-platinum, and two platinum adjudications! The team also came away with three 1st overall group awards, a 2nd place solo, a 10th place solo and multiple judges’ choice awards.

During the competition, Dupree had a convention with amazing award-winning teachers, that the studio got the chance to participate in. During this convention the teachers look out for dancers that stood out to award them prestigious opportunities and scholarships. J31 dancers came away with 11 Dupree scholarships, invites to RhythmicSouls Tap Company, Dupree Dance Crew, Scholarships and Admittance to Hussian College Los Angeles, and two invites to The Collective, Dupree Dance’s assistant teacher auditions.
