Unity Village will host a diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) event at Unity Village called Unity DEI Blueprint: Build a More Inclusive Workplace on April 20, 2022. The event is a one-day training session designed for Jackson County business leaders to explore best practices for diversity, equity, and inclusion. The training focuses on three dimensions of developing an inclusive workplace: recruiting diverse candidates, accepting cultural differences, and developing diverse supplier groups.

“Cultivating diversity in the workplace is good business and leads to strong teams, thoughtful decision-making, and increased innovation,” says Alexandra Scott.

As the Unity Talent Acquisition and DEI Strategist, Scott believes that DEI in the workplace is not a one-and-done training, or a fad that is going away. She says, “We are now living in a different time, and we must learn to practice DEI daily.”

The daylong workshop includes keynote speakers, interactive workshops, a panel discussion, and diverse vendor booths. Individual tickets are $299, with groups of eight for $1,999. The tickets include lunch, coffee/tea breaks, access to all workshops, networking opportunities, and a tool kit full of DEI strategies to take back to the workplace.
