GEHA (Government Employee Health Association, Inc., pronounced G.E.H.A.) and the Kansas City Chiefs partnered with Wreaths Across America to remember and honor veterans who have served the United States across all wars.

This year on National Wreaths Across America Day, Saturday, Dec. 17, GEHA sponsored 500 wreaths covering two entire burial lots at the Fort Leavenworth National Cemetery. Additionally, dozens of volunteers and military veterans from GEHA and the Kansas City Chiefs were at the event to lay wreaths and honor the graves of those who fought. As part of the ceremony, a fallen hero’s name will be announced in remembrance as a volunteer lays a wreath.

As a nonprofit member association, GEHA’s dedication to military retirees and their families is ingrained in its everyday work. By partnering with Wreaths Across America, GEHA and the Chiefs hope to give gratitude to those who have served while teaching individuals the importance of remembering those who fought and emphasizing the value of civic responsibility.
