All the fall high school sports teams are getting in their final practices this week in preparation for a new season that they hope will end with a conference or even a state title.

All three volleyball teams in Lee’s Summit Schools got together to compete in a volleyball jamboree played at LS West. The round robin format began with the host Titans taking on rival LS North. The Titans scored a 25-18 win in the first match. Following a brief break the Titans impressively beat the Broncos 25-13 in the next match.

The Lee’s Summit Tigers after watching the first two matches were then able to take the floor to participate in this pre-season event. The annual jamboree held on Tuesday August 22 was a preview of what will be a busy start to the 2023 season for all three teams.

The Titans get into action on Saturday, Aug. 26 when they play in the Spectrum Sports Volleyball Slam. The day-long event is being played at St. James Academy where the Titans play Blue Valley North. Then on Monday, Aug. 28 its right back to the court for the Titans on the road at Staley for a 6:30 p.m. match. The Titans turn around the next night to host Grain Valley at 6:30 p.m.

The LS North Broncos will hit the court again on Monday, Aug. 28 when they hit the road to play at Park Hill South at 6:30 p.m. The very next night Broncos host Liberty North at 6:30 p.m. Same story holds true for the Lee’s Summit Tigers who host Ray-Pec on Monday, Aug. 28 at 6:30 p.m. Then the Tigers hit the road to Park Hill on Tuesday, Aug. 29 for a varsity match at 6:30 p.m.
