St. Michael’s senior quarterback Cam Zaun has been selected to play in this year’s Blue-Grey All-American bowl game.

Zaun, who will play for the South squad, will be able to wear his Guardians helmet in the HS All-star game. Zaun, at 6’2″-180 lbs, also played free safety, place-kicker and at punter for the Guardians this season. Zaun has plenty of time to prepare for the game and surrounding activities as game day is Monday, Jan. 29, 2024. The game will feature many of the nation’s top prospects from the class of 2024.

The All-Star game will be played at Tampa’s Raymond James Stadium normally the home of the NFL’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers. This is the stadium that served as host to Super Bowl 55 where the Kansas City Chiefs played in as the AFC representative. The All-Star Game kick off is set for noon and television coverage will be available on ESPN 3 so viewers can watch the game wherever they are in the world.

SMA head football coach Andrew Pitts says the All-Star players will have “one week of practice” before getting down to the business of a game day. Pitts states he is “real proud of him, excited for him to have this opportunity.” The reaction to this news among Zaun’s teammates was very good as Pitts admits “he is well liked, excited for him as well.” Currently Zaun is playing for the Guardians boys basketball team but next month will step away for one last football game in his high school career.
