Next weekend, February 16 and 17, the St. Peters Rec-Plex will host the Missouri High School Girls Swim State Championship.

To compete at the state championship, a swimmer must post one of the top 32 fastest times in a specific event, in the state, in their class. MSHSSA tracks these performances throughout the winter season so competitors have a solid understanding of the time(s) they need to achieve.

On Monday, Feb. 5, the Lee’s Summit R-7 pool hosted the “Last Chance Meet” which included all three Lee’s Summit High Schools. Only the fastest of the fast compete at this meet in their final attempt to earn a spot on the blocks at the state competition.

The following swimmers will be competing as individuals representing our school district next weekend:

Lee’s Summit North High School – Emma Fry (9), Myah Frashier (12)

Lee’s Summit High School – Angela Kim (11), Lucy Nofzinger (10), Abby Sanning (10), Natalie Stikeleather (10)

Lee’s Summit West High School – Margo Heckadon (10), Miller Wood (10), Addison Woody (10)

All three high schools are also sending relay teams to compete in the 200 Medley Relay, 200 Freestyle Relay and 400 Freestyle Relay.
