The time has come for the class of 2024 to represent their high schools one more time thanks to the Kansas vs Missouri All-Star High School Football Game. The highly anticipated annual event is put on by the GKCFCA, Greater Kansas City Football Coaches Association.
The Missouri All-Stars won last year’s game 16-8 that was played at Raymore-Peculiar High School. This year the event returns to the Kansas side of the state line as Mill Valley will serve as host on Friday, Jun. 14. Tickets will go on sale soon as fans will want to get them early to not miss out on who will claim bragging rights when the game ends. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
Rosters for both teams are still being finalized with the coaching staff for the game all set. Head coach for Missouri this year is Kearney head coach Logan Minnick. Minnick was head coach at Raytown before going to Kearney. Lee’s Summit Tigers assistant coach Benny Palmer is on the eight member staff. Already named to the Missouri roster is players Max Kates and Roan McCarthy both from Lee’s Summit. McCarthy is a 5’10” – 175 lb placekicker and Kates a 5’9″ – 150 lb wide receiver/cornerback.
Local high school football fans have one last chance to see their favorite players in action under the Friday night lights. When the all stars are done playing the fans will know if Missouri keeps their bragging rights for another year and if someone from Lee’s Summit played a big role in the outcome.
