Much like a movie reviewer, Kansas City Royals fans were happy to share their review of the team’s first week of the 2024 season. The Royals took the field on Friday, Apr. 5 with a record of 3-4 and ready to host division rival Chicago White Sox. When the night was over at Kaufman Stadium the Royals had reached the .500 record at 4-4 thanks to a hard fought 2-1 win over Chicago.

Andrew Greene, a season ticket holder from Kansas City, MO, was happy to provide a review on his favorite teams work so far this year. Greene feels the biggest surprise has been the “starting pitching, impressed by the pitching giving us a chance to win every game.” Greene is happy about “the number of quality starts, Singer was lights out.” The team’s greatest concern according to Greene is “the offense, been up and down.” Greene adds “struggled to start, worried how consistent they are going to be.”

The Royals went on to earn a four-game series sweep of the White Sox to improve to 6-4 on the new season. AJ Ladner of Kansas City, MO was very happy to see it saying “We swept the White Sox and helps their record.” Ladner, who attends 10 games a year, feels the Royals could end up doing well should they “get reliable pitching and consistent hitting.” Biggest concern to Ladner is the “division standings, doing ok but not great.”

Following the sweep of the White Sox the Royals were host to perennial playoff contender Houston Astros. The three-game series concluded the current home stand for the team who will leave town for New York and then Chicago starting on April 13. The team had an off day on Monday, Apr. 8 allowing the team to review what has happened this season up to that point. Don’t be surprised if the review was a favorable one just like the ones Royals fans are giving the team this season.
