John Knox Village has been informed that an associate has been diagnosed with COVID-19, the illness resulting from the novel coronavirus.
- The associate works in a non-patient care position in a contained area at the John Knox Village Care Center.
- The associate last worked on campus March 25. This person was asymptomatic when on campus, but was later hospitalized and is confirmed positive.
- The Village Care Center is continuing to follow protocols and procedures recommended by the local and state health departments, including the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention.
- We have been screening associates daily for some time now; this process was instrumental in keeping the associate from exposing others once symptoms were known.
“Our focus remains 100% on the health and well-being of the entire John Knox Village community. I know our associates have – and will continue to – work tirelessly to protect everyone who lives and works at the Village,” said Dan Rexroth, president and CEO, John Knox Village. “Our mission to Enrich Lives and Build Community has never been more meaningful.”
The 430-bed Village Care Center is the largest long-term care facility in the area. Built in 1988, the self-contained facility is located on the west side of the Village campus. 400 N.W. Murray Road | Lee’s Summit, MO 64081
