Judy Kay Nagel (née Fish), passed on to eternal life on March 24, 2025, in League City, Texas. Born in San Diego, California on February 12, 1945, Judy lived a blessed life marked by faith, love, and travel. Her early years were spent in Missouri, where she graduated from Lee’s Summit High School (Class of 1963). She continued her education at Wichita State University before marrying James (Jim) W. Nagel in 1966.
As a dedicated wife and mother, Judy supported Jim throughout his career as they moved from Kansas City to Atlanta, Philadelphia, Knoxville, Tulsa, Singapore, and Tampa. In each place, Judy created a warm and loving home for her family. Their retirement years were happily spent in Tampa, Florida, and finally in League City, Texas.
Judy’s Christian faith was the cornerstone of her life. She was an active member of the Anglican Church of the Resurrection in Tampa, Florida and a dedicated community volunteer. The Lord’s words “I am the resurrection and the life. Anyone who believes in me will live, even after dying” (John 11:25-26), were a source of strength and inspiration throughout her life.
To the delight of her family and friends, Judy found great pleasure in cooking and baking. Her passion for interior design transformed her homes into places of beauty and comfort. She avidly read the newspaper daily and could always be found immersed in a book. Dogs held a special place in Judy’s heart, and she cherished the companionship and joy they brought to her life. Traveling the world with her beloved husband, family, and friends was Judy’s ‘happy place’ as she appreciated experiencing new cultures and creating lasting memories.
Judy was preceded in death by her husband, Jim, and parents, Linden and Garland Fish (née Burge). She is survived by her children, Joy Nagel, Jill Nagel (Robert) Kaale, son Jamie (Heather) Nagel and cherished grandchildren Ella Kaale, Ashton Nagel, Connor Nagel, and Logan Nagel.
Those who knew Judy will remember her as a faith-filled and loving soul who loved to laugh. Her presence was a blessing to all who crossed her path, and her memory will be cherished forever.
