Prairie Township/Lake Lotawana
Bitter-Sweet Victory!
The Prairie Township and Lotawana Fire Protection District’s would like to say THANK YOU to all the citizens for getting out and voting in this unusual time for all of us. Thank you cannot go far enough for the support we have received during this election and pandemic.
The reason we say “bittersweet” is two great legacies will be coming to an end shortly, Prairie Township Fire which started service to the community in 1954 and Lotawana in 1975. Many memories have been made over the years but, now we are looking forward to the future and a new legacy with the Southern Jackson County Fire Protection District.
We will be updating citizens via newspaper articles, website, Facebook, Nextdoor, etc., once the election results have been officially certified and legal paperwork is in place for the formation of the new district. These updates will include any immediate operational changes, plus planning and timing of future happenings and events.
Our management and personnel are excited to begin this new chapter and providing even better service to this community.
Any questions or concerns please feel free to call Chief Bill Large at 816.525.4200.
