Amy Yang of Lee’s Summit will be acting in the up coming performance of “One Hundred Horses” at UMKC. She will be playing the role of Cui Zhenghua, a wealthy women in China. Amy will also be dancing.

Martha Lafite Thompson Nature Sanctuary in Liberty with cooperation from the Edgar Snow Memorial Foundation at UMKC is doing this as fundraiser for the sanctuary.

It is directed by Susan Proctor, of Rockhurst University and written by Steve Karol.

The story is about an epic journey taken by an American from KC. He travels through China during WWII to help save the art treasures of China from the Japanese. In his travels he makes contact with fellow Kansas Citians, pilot, Howard Porter and journalist, Edgar Snow. The VFW in Kearney is also an important location as it appears in this tale.

The production will take place at the James C Olson Performing Arts Center, Studio Theatre PAC 116 located at 4949 Cherry St, in Kansas City.

Performances are May 30, 31 and June 1 at 7:30 p.m., June 2 at 2:00 p.m., June 6,7, and 8 at 7:30 p.m., and June 9 at 2:00 p.m.
