Three Lee’s Summit High School graduates were inducted into the LSHS Hall of Fame Class of 2024 Saturday, April 13. The class included Dr. James S. Jones – Class of 1969, Dr. Rayna Grothe – Class of 1974, and Dr. Ronald “Gene” Clark, Class of 1962.

Approximately 80 guests attended the banquet and induction ceremony in the LSHS cafeteria and James Brockman Lecture Hall. Dr. Darrel Nelson, 2007 Hall of Fame Inductee, and Dr. John Faulkenberry, former LSHS Principal, served as the emcees for the evening. Dr. Kari Harrison, Principal, welcomed the guests and provided highlights of the achievements of LSHS students and staff.

Mr. Jim Lemery provided the invocation, and Hall of Fame members in attendance welcomed the new inductees by placing a LSHS Hall of Fame Medallion on each recipient. Photo power points were produced by current LSHS Production students and ran while emcees provided detailed introductions of each candidate. The inductees made acceptance speeches highlighting their careers and special teachers and events from their high school years and then received an engraved pewter platter.
