On Sept. 18, 2021 Col. Jori A. Robinson was promoted to the rank of Brigadier General in the Air National Guard.
Robinson is a 1995 Lee’s Summit High School graduate and was inducted into the school’s Hall of Fame in 2018. She was also the keynote speaker at the school’s Veterans Day assembly that same year.
Robinson is the Senior Executive Officer for the Director, Air National Guard. In this capacity she is a trusted agent to the Director and is responsible for overall office management and supervision of personnel assigned to the Director, Deputy Director, Executive Director and Senior Advisors. She interfaces with General Officers, senior ranking Civilians, senior field grade officers, and senior NCOs throughout the DoD. Col Robinson manages the coordination with such agencies as Congressional Staffs, all levels within DOD, Offices of the Adjutants General of the 54 states and territories and she oversees administrative quality control for the office support staff. Finally, Col Robinson develops office policy and establishes standardized office procedures, and methodologies.
Col. Robinson graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 1999 and received her commission as a distinguished graduate of the Reserve Officer Training Corps. She has served in intelligence positions at the unit, wing, Numbered Air Force, Major Command Headquarters, Air Force Headquarters, and DoD Intelligence Agencies. She has served as a Cyberspace Operations Officer at the Squadron, Group, Wing and Combatant Command level. She has supported operations in the European, African, Middle East and Pacific theaters and has deployed in support of numerous overseas operations. Prior to her current assignment, Col Robinson was the Vice Commander of the 175th Wing, Maryland ANG.
She has received multiple awards and decorations during her career including Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Air Force Meritorious Service Medal with three oak leaf clusters, Joint Commendation Medal, Air Force Commendation Medal with oak leaf cluster, Air Force Achievement Medal, Joint Meritorious Unit Award with oak leaf cluster, Air Force Outstanding Unit Award with two oak leaf clusters, National Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Armed Forces Service Medal, Humanitarian Service Medal, and Maryland National Guard State Active Duty Medal.
