***Update from 16th Judicial Court***
On Thursday, April 18, the Juvenile Officer filed juvenile delinquency charges against a 16-year-old youth in this incident. He is charged with Assault First Degree, a Class A felony, and Armed Criminal Action. He is presently being held in the Juvenile Detention Center. He was arrested on Wednesday evening, April 17.

Lee’s Summit, MO – April 19th, 2019 – An arrest has been made in the investigation of a shooting that occurred at a local skating rink last weekend.
A 16 year old juvenile from Kansas City, Missouri was taken into custody and is awaiting charges from the incident. Because the suspect is a juvenile the department is not allowed to release his name or photograph at this time.
As of this morning, the defendant remains in the custody of juvenile authorities. The Police Department is thankful for the public’s assistance and patience while investigators conducted interviews, gathered evidence and brought this case to a conclusion.
The victim remains in the hospital and is doing well and improving.
