Lee’s Summit R-7 School District’s Summer Swim League is a recreational swimming program designed for new to moderate swimmers who want to develop swim skills and compete. The Summer Swim League focuses on technique progression, stroke development, swimmer-lane etiquette, and competition essentials for turns, starts, and finishes.
Summer Swim League’s goals are to develop fundamentally sound swimmers along with a competent swimming foundation in the mastery of all four competitive strokes. The program enables swimmers to advance their swimming abilities, improve skill proficiency, and reach obtainable goals, providing swimmers with positive, well-rounded swimming experience.

VOLUNTEERS:
We ask families to help out by volunteering because swim meets cannot happen without volunteers. Approximately 30 volunteers are required to run an efficient, effective swim meet. Volunteers will receive a $40 refund for volunteering for at least two swim meets (credit is per household, not per swimmer). Coaches will share the link to sign up each week before the meet. Contact the Aquatic Center with any questions, (816) 986-1465.
Swim Meet Volunteer Positions:
Starter/announcers (two volunteers): They start the events/races via the PA system and call for swimmers in the next event while keeping the meet on schedule.
Zookeepers (three volunteers): They put swimmers in order by heat and event, ensuring they are ready to swim.
Heat stagers (three volunteers): They stage swimmers in order and help organize them in their lanes for their race.
Runners (two volunteers): They deliver cards from the timers to the awards table.
Awards table volunteers (two volunteers): They assist in handing out ribbons and awards to swimmers.
