Lee’s Summit R-7 Schools is joining school districts throughout the metropolitan area in calling a Red Snow Day on Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2020 to allow students and staff to attend the Champions Parade celebrating the Kansas City Chiefs’ Super Bowl LIV victory.
This week’s decision to cancel classes was based on numerous requests from employees and families, and indicators that we will not have enough substitutes to cover classrooms.
This school cancellation will be treated just like a snow day. The last day of school is now May 27. Before and After School Services will open three sites at Underwood Elementary, Prairie View Elementary and Summit Pointe Elementary for students who are enrolled in BASS, and for a nominal fee. BASS begins at 7 a.m. on Wednesday.
Have a great week and congratulations to our NFL Champions, the Kansas City Chiefs!
