William Chrisman High School was the destination for the three LSR7 girls soccer teams as they competed in the Class 4, District 7 tournament. The St. Michael’s Guardians traveled to Belton to play in the Class 3, District 7 tourney and Summit Christian went to Pleasant Hill for the Class 2, District 6 tournament.
The number two seeded Summit Christian Eagles scored an easy 8-0 win over Northeast in the opening round. Then the Eagles season came to an end in a 4-0 shutout loss to Harrisonville in the semifinal round. The number two seeded Guardians also won via a shutout to begin their post-season run. A 9-0 win over Grandview before a 3-1 semi-final round victory over Carl Junction. The win put the Guardians into the title game against top seed Notre Dame De Sion.
Lot of Lee’s Summit fans made the trip to Norman James Field in Independence and they were rewarded as all three Lee’s Summit teams won their opening round games. The top seeded Tigers needed only one half to score an easy 8-0 win over Raytown. Later in the day Lee’s Summit North was also able to notch an 8-0 win this came against the host William Chrisman Bears. In the middle of the four game slate found LS West Titans up against Ray-Pec Panthers. The Titans never led in regulation that ended in a two all tie. After two scoreless overtime sessions the Titans finally won the match 3-2 thanks to the Titans converting all five penalty kicks. The successful kicks came from Addy Rozycki, Makayla Myers, Brooklyn Visconti, Hannah Borgstradt and Kylie Mooney.
Semifinal round action played on Tuesday, May 16th saw rivals Lee’s Summit play LS West and it ended with the top seeded Tigers scoring a 2-0 shutout win. The other semifinal game found number two seed LS North face St. Teresa’s and it was the Stars pulling out a 2-1 win to advance and play the Tigers in the district championship game.
