This November the Lone Jack Historical Society planned its eighth distinctive escape room fundraiser. These unique, interactive, fun fundraising adventures have proven to offer repeat appeal. This year’s offering proved wildly successful with 14 groups and 70 players.
A teacher and chaperones from Meadville, MO brought students for a Saturday field trip to experience history at the museum. While half the students puzzled out clues in the escape room, the others chatted with living historians and participated in a scavenger hunt on the grounds waiting their turn for an escape room adventure.
This year’s limited engagement escape room offered Depression-era gangsters, fast cars, holdups and thrills. Friends gathered to solve the puzzles and clues to escape before time ran out. While visiting Lone Jack for this adventure, several groups extended their Lone Jack visit by stopping at various restaurants in town.
Are you looking for a unique holiday gift? Did you miss this fall’s program? Due to this episode’s overwhelming success, the historical society is offering advance ticket sales for their encore opportunities in April. Check out the website at www.historiclonejack.org.
The all-volunteer Lone Jack Historical Society is the sole manager for the day-to-day operations of the museum. Help them keep the doors open. Donations are always greatly appreciated. For winter hours and more information call the museum at 816-697-8833 or visit www.historiclonejack.org.
