For the third year in a row art students from all LSR7 secondary schools converged on downtown for their annual Real World Learning project with downtown Lee’s Summit businesses.

Students collaborated with businesses to design and paint windows in preparation for Small Business Saturday on November 30 and the rest of the holiday season.

This client-connected project allows students to meet with business owners to get their vision on what they’d like to see approaching the holiday shopping season. Students had to create the designs and get approval, then work together in groups to complete the work.

The project has grown each year since its beginning. You can see the talents of LSR7’s secondary art students on display in the windows of 19 businesses the next time you walk around Downtown Lee’s Summit.
