Lee’s Summit CARES is preparing for the 20th Anniversary of the Mayor’s Character Breakfast 2024.

Each year Lee’s Summit CARES presents awards to those in our community who go above and beyond in service to their community.

Presenting awards for the 12 Character Traits, the Ethics in Business Award and the Lifetime Achievement Award.

The 12 Character Trait Awards

Who do you know that has exceptional character? How do they demonstrate one of the12 character traits? Tell us about them. The character traits are: Appreciation, Citizenship, Cooperation, Courage, Family, Honesty, Kindness, Perseverance, Respect, Responsibility, Self-Control and Sportsmanship.

The Ethics in Business Award

What business in Lee’s Summit exemplifies leadership that actively involves ethical decision making and compliance? How do they foster a culture of ethical and social responsibility? Speak to the community involvement of the business.

The Lifetime Achievement Award

Do you know a Lee’s Summit resident who has worked to promote an idea in our community? Describe their ability to advance an idea, their service to Lee’s Summit and the significance of their contribution.

The Mayor’s Character Breakfast will be held from 7 a.m. – 9 a.m. on January 25, 2024 at the Pavilion at John Knox Village located at 520 NW Murray Rd. in Lee’s Summit.

The deadline for the nomination is September 6th.
