Michele “Cheli” Ohms Mosby, 62, of Lee’s Summit, Missouri passed away April 19th surrounded by loved ones.
‘Cheli’ was born in Luling, Louisiana November 29th, 1956 to Irene Walsh and Charles Henry Ohms but was raised in Creve Coeur, Missouri with her four siblings. Alumna of John F. Kennedy High School, she enjoyed playing softball, family trips and tending to her horse, Sugar.
She went on to the University of Missouri-St. Louis where she was a member of Zeta Tau Alpha sorority.
Cheli married the love of her life, David Harold Mosby on May 18th, 1991. Together they had two daughters, Kathryn Irene Mosby and Mary Darleen Mosby. She was made to be a wife and mother, even welcoming her home to several exchange students over the years whom affectionately refer to her as their ‘American Mom.’
She was an international traveler, enjoyed flying hot air balloons, preparing sushi nights at the Lake of the Ozarks, helping with the ladies auxiliary at her beloved church and working at Power Transmission Systems and Macy’s.
She will be remembered for her warm personality, devout faith, excellent cooking skills and love for her friends and family.
Cheli is preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband of 28 years, Dave Mosby; her daughters, Kathryn Mosby and Mary Mosby; sisters, MaryAnn Ohms, Margaret Ohms, Geralyn Fanning; brother Charles Ohms; numerous nieces and nephews, cousins, friends and extended family.
Visitation will be held 11:30-1:30 prior to funeral services at 2 pm, Saturday April 27th at St. Margaret’s of Scotland Parish, 777 NE Blackwell Rd, Lee’s Summit, Missouri 64086.
