Renovations are complete at the Mid-Continent Public Library Raytown Branch which reopened to the public on January 27. The branch, located at 6131 Raytown Road, invites the public to attend a celebration to be held on Friday, Mar. 6 at 10 a.m. The celebration will include a “Book Opening” ceremony and a reception.
Since the Raytown branch closed in August 2019 it has received a variety of interior and exterior upgrades including the addition of new collaboration rooms for smaller meetings and tutoring sessions. Additional upgrades saw more natural lighting added along with upgraded technology from new computers to improved Wi-Fi coverage.
The Raytown branch is one of many library branches to receive upgrades made possible by increased funding from the passage of Proposition L in 2016. The increased funding has allowed the Mid-Continent library system to expand branch hours, enhance special services and buy more materials.
Jane Mulvihill-Jones, manager of the Raytown Branch, says, “We’re so excited to welcome all our customers back to the branch and can’t wait to show each of them all of the enhancements, which we think will be a great improvement to the customer experience.”
Raytown branch visitors are welcome to check out the new upgraded venue during its operating hours, Monday through Thursday 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., Friday 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday 1 to 5 p.m.
