Thanks to a bond approval, the Lake Lotawana Fire Protection District has a new fire/rescue boat now in service. It has the capability of fire extinguishment as well as water rescue. The pump can flow 500 gpm of water and the boat has a top speed of 40 mph.

The Fire Protection District is currently asking the public to help name the new boat. Submissions can be my by way of the Lotawana Fire Protection District Facebook page. The new name will be announced on May 1.
