Whataburger opened its newest location in the metro at 204 SW MO-150 in Lee’s Summit on Thursday.
Three lucky customers were awarded “First-in-line” prize boxes that includedWhataburger for a year and some fun, branded items like a Whataburger mug, pickle ball set, koozies and more.
First in line at drive thru A was Aubrey Rice from Greenwood, who ordered a #1 Meal all the way with grilled onions. She saw a post on social media the night before and was there at 8:00 in the morning, excited to be the first in line.
First in line on drive thru lane B was Bill and Kathleen. They are part of a classic car club and recruited their friends to come fill up the second drive thru lane to kick off the day. They are from the area, and love Whataburger. They enjoyed their Whataburgers today, and cannot wait to come back and try the breakfast items, the honey butter chicken biscuit and the famous BOB (Breakfast on a Bun).
First in line in the lobby was Joyce and David Oshell, who have lived in Lee’s Summit for the last 18 years, with a son that lives in Dallas and are familiar with Whataburger because of the restaurant’s beginnings there, and another son that lives in the Kansas City area. They ordered the Whatachick ‘n’ sandwich, onion rings and fries to share. They were over the moon to receive the Whataburger for a year box, and cannot wait to bring their family back to join them again.
