April 4, 2020
On March 16, 2020, the Raytown Emergency Assistance Program ceased all daily operations at our facility. We did so in order to protect our staff, volunteers, and families from the spread of COVID 19 (coronavirus). Since then, the Federal Government, CDC, and Jackson County issued a ‘Stay in Place’ order with the only exceptions being made for essential businesses. REAP partnered with TAGS Free Lunch KC (www.tagsfreelunchkc.com) on March 18th in order to distribute free lunches to Raytown C-2 School District students and families. We will continue to offer these free lunches for the duration of the ‘Stay in Place’ mandate.
In addition to offering free lunches, we will also distribute one (1) free bag of groceries every Friday in April to families in the Raytown C-2 School District. The groceries will be distributed on a ‘first come-first served’ basis, and for as long as supplies last each week. Please stay in your car and follow the drive thru instructions to receive the items. If you would like to donate for lunches or groceries, please do so via our website, www.raytownreap.org/donate.
Free lunches: Mon. – Thur. 11:30 am – 1:00 pm
Free groceries: every Friday in April: 11:30 am – 1:00 pm
The utility companies WILL NOT shut off services at least for the next 60 days. Feel free to contact them directly if you may have any questions or concerns. For those families who find themselves in an absolute emergency situation regarding food or rental assistance, please email [email protected]. Please check our website www.raytownreap.org, or our Facebook www.facebook.com/REAPRaytown for the latest updates.
Thank you and please stay safe!
