One Dead, One in Custody, Following Overnight Shooting

Raytown, MO – On 02-24-2021, at approximately 1:58 a.m., Raytown police officers were called to a disturbance and the sound of gunshots at a residence in the 9000 block of East 87 Street.

Officers arrived at that location and found an adult male, who appeared to have been shot. The male was transported to an area hospital, where he died. An adult female was seen leaving the area and was taken into custody nearby. The relationship between the two was unknown at that time.

The investigation was ongoing.
