LSR7 Nutrition Director Lori Danella wasn’t expecting a call from Summit Church pastor Ryan Schreckenghaust this fall. And she certainly wasn’t prepared for what happened next.

Pastor Schreckenghaust said his congregation was interested in paying off the unpaid lunch debt for the district; the balance at the time was $18,950.

This week, Pastor Schreckenghaust presented the district with a check for that amount on behalf of The Summit Church community, which collected the funds during their services last weekend.

The contribution, coupled with donations from other generous anonymous donors, means the district has been given more than $20,000 to cover unpaid lunch balances.

We are so grateful for our community’s generosity and compassion for our kids. It truly will be a Happy New Year.
