
Phillip “Phil” Arthur Evans; husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather; 77, of Bates City, Missouri passed away Sunday April 13, 2025, at Monterey Park Rehabilitation & Health Care Center.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Monday, April 21, 2025, at the Ralph O. Jones Funeral Home, 306 S. 2nd St., Odessa, MO, 64076, 816-633-5524. A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at the funeral home. Inurnment with Military Honors will follow at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville, MO. Phil was born March 11, 1948, in Kansas City, Missouri to Jack and Vera (Talburt) Evans. He graduated from Raytown High School before honoring his country with four years of dedicated service in the United States Marine Corp. Phil was united in marriage on August 27, 1977, to Victoria “Vicki” A. Gregg in Lee’s Summit, MO. After his military service, Phil pursued higher education, attending Longview Community College and later the University of Missouri-Kansas City, where he earned a masters degree in education specialist. Alongside his professional accomplishments, he was an active member of his community, volunteering at the American Red Cross and sharing his love for sports by coaching his daughters’ soccer, basketball and softball teams, and building his home in the country by hand. Phil found joy in connecting with others, whether through the HAM radio community or by spending precious moments with his family. Phil found great joy watching documentaries and mysteries, trains, reading, and listening to music.
Phil is survived by his loving wife, Victoria “Vicki” A. Evans of the home, four children, Angela (Mike) Skora of Concord, NH, Alina Williams of Bates City, MO, Sophie Evans of Huntington, VT, and Katheryn (Brett) Fielder of Lee’s Summit, MO; eight grandchildren, Anna Neves, Tyler Williams, Caitlin Penny, Melissa Valley, Brandy Blevins, Ethan Blevins, Boey Fielder, and Benjamin Fielder; three great-grandchildren, Ellie, Ivy, and Briar; one sister, Patsy (Garold) Brooks, one sister-in-law, Karin; and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Along with both his parents, Phil was preceded in death by a brother, Jerry Evans.
