The 2024 Summer Olympics are now two weeks away and among the athletes competing for gold are two Raytown natives gymnast Lynnzee Brown and sprinter Quincy Hall.
Brown, an assistant gymnastics coach at Penn State, won multiple championships at the University of Denver. She graduated as one of the most decorated gymnasts from a university that has produced three other Olympic gymnasts.
Hall was a 2016 state champion in the 400m at Raytown South and set a MSHSAA state record of 46.82 seconds. After high school, he continued his success at College of the Sequoias in California and the University of South Carolina.
For Brown, the women’s gymnastics qualification round is on Sunday, Jul. 28. Round one of the men’s 400m for Hall takes place on Sunday, Aug. 4.
