Raytown High School varsity boys swim team earned the title of Suburban White Division conference champions for the second year in a row, members of the team also qualified to compete in the Missouri State High School Activities Association State Boys Swimming and Diving Championships, Nov. 14-16, 2019 in St. Peters, Missouri.
Every member of the Raytown High School varsity boys swim and dive team medaled in at least one event at the conference championship. Individual conference champions include Aaron Acker, 100 breaststroke; Ben Gippner, 500 freestyle; and Case Olsen, diving. The 200-medley relay of Aaron Acker, Dylan Searls, Ben Gippner, and Joey Talley also earned the title of conference champions.
State qualifiers include Aaron Acker, 100 breaststroke; and a combination of team members Aaron Acker, Carter Bryant, Jonathon Bidwell, Ben Gippner, Luke Markley, Michael Page, Dylan Searls, and Joey Talley will compete in the state competition in the 200 freestyle relay, 200 medley relay, and 400 relay.
This is the 44th year in a row members of the Raytown High School varsity boys swim team have qualified to compete in the state competition.
The Raytown High School Varsity Boys Swim team had a regular season dual meet record of 9-1.
The Raytown High School varsity boys swim team is coached by Jim Aziere. Coach Aziere is a member of the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame, has served as a coach in the Raytown School District for 50 years, and has a record of 534 wins, 88 losses, and 2 ties as head coach of the Raytown High School swim and dive program.
The Raytown High School diving program is coached by George Halsey.
