Three hundred pounds of catfish fish will stock the pond for this year’s 45th Annual Fishing Derby on Sunday, Jun. 5 from 8 to 11 a.m. at C. Lee Kenagy Park located at 7834 Raytown Road in Raytown.
Sponsored by the City of Raytown’s Parks & Recreation, this annual fishing contest allows children and adults to catch a fish to reel in prizes. The event is free and open to all ages, but registration is required and begins at 8 a.m. on June 4. Last year approximately 95 citizens participated. Participant max is limited to 135. The Fishing Derby is a rain or shine event.
Prizes awarded to biggest overall catch and biggest catch in each age category. No more than three (3) poles per person. Questions? Call the Parks Office, 816-358-4100.
