Join Raytown Mayor Michael McDonough for the annual Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony, 6-8 p.m., Friday, Dec. 6 at the Pocket Park, located at 9921 E 63rd Street. For more than a decade, this tree lighting ceremony has become an annual tradition in Raytown.

Holiday music will be provided by Raytown South High School Cardinal Chorale, Raytown High School Camerata, the Raytown Elementary Choir, and the Raytown Community Band. Other activities include an appearance by Santa who will flip the switch.

Raytown Water will provide hayrides, a winter wonderland with cookies and cider. Other downtown businesses will also provide treats. Santa will distribute gifts to the first 150 children.

Everyone is welcome to attend this free celebration to kick off the holiday season.

The tree lighting ceremony is presented by the Raytown Main Street Association, Raytown Parks & Recreation and the City of Raytown.
