In the final meeting with the media on Thursday, Kansas City Chiefs players were asked questions about the team, their coach and even their hair as they finished up their media responsibilities before Super Bowl 54.

To no one’s surprise Chiefs QB Pat Mahomes had the largest contingent of media members at his booth. Mahomes talked about the key to success, “Everybody has to be on the same page.” About being mentally strong on game day “Just manage it. Keep a clear head through the long pre-game and win the Super Bowl.” Mahomes talked about his now famous hair, “Grew it out on my freshman year (at Texas Tech) with my teammates and just kept it.”

Chiefs wide receiver Tyreek Hill talked about a number of subjects including his take on Sunday’s game, “A high scoring game. A lot of fast guys playing.” Hill gave a shout out to his position coach, Chiefs receivers coach Greg Lewis, saying “definitely a great coach. Knows what he’s talking about.” Hill talked about the Chiefs receivers “Always doing stuff together.” Hill closed with a comment about his head coach Andy Reid “Always having fun.”

A Grandview, Missouri native Chiefs Defensive lineman Xavier Williams has a different take on this team’s Super Bowl appearance than his teammates. Williams on seeing his favorite team make it to the big game “It’s amazing.” On Kansas City’s Chiefs fever “Everyone is a lot happier now. KC has been overlooked a long time.” Williams has heard from many of his friends back home saying “Gave me a little encouragement, appreciate them reaching out.”

Fullback Anthony Sherman who has been with the Chiefs since the start of the Andy Reid era back in 2013 about that “This journey started seven years ago and Coach Reid and his staff have done a great job.” The key to success this season Sherman added “Finding guys on defense.”  The Chiefs players went through almost a two hour practice on Thursday, today will have their final practice with special work on red zone situations. Saturday will be a walk through and a final review of the game plan for Sunday’s Super Bowl game.
