Rob Binney, Senior Vice President with Citizens Bank & Trust in Lee’s Summit, graduated from the Missouri Bankers Association’s Banking Leadership Missouri program during the organization’s 132nd Annual Convention held June 8-10 at the Hilton Branson Convention Center.
Binney was among 33 bankers from throughout Missouri who completed MBA’s 12-month leadership development program designed to actively enhance the leadership, organizational and performance skills of highly motivated mid- to upper-level bankers. Courses focused on emerging bank issues, government relations, ethics, leadership styles, workplace culture and communications. Banking Leadership Missouri establishes a network of future bank leaders who can respond to local and national issues affecting the banking industry and their communities.
“Through Banking Leadership Missouri, Rob developed a deeper understanding of the issues affecting the banking industry,” said Jackson Hataway, MBA president. “Rob is a leader in his community, and he is among the next leaders in his bank and our association.”
Currently Rob serves as Senior Vice President in the SMB (Small to Mid-size Business) Division of Citizens Bank & Trust, working out of the Lee’s Summit office. His ability to service local and regional businesses with their commercial real estate, commercial & industrial, and other lending needs, along with the support of a team of retail professionals, helps set Citizens apart from the competition.
“We are proud of Rob and his dedication to our customers, shareholders, communities, and the banking industry,” Roger Arwood, CBT CEO stated. “His active participation in the MBA has helped Rob become a stronger banker and our bank a better financial institution.” Rob recently served as a City Councilmember in Lee’s Summit for 8 years, including two years as the Mayor Pro-Tem, and currently serves on Advisory Boards for the Lee’s Summit Education Foundation and the Truman Heartland Community Foundation.
The Missouri Bankers Association is a statewide trade and professional organization in Jefferson City that represents the interests of 235 banks and savings and loans in Missouri. MBA serves as the principal advocate for the Missouri banking community and provides educational opportunities, products and services that assist bankers with enhancing their banking operations.
