
Ron D. Hansen, 65, of Lee’s Summit, Missouri, passed away on February 24, 2025. Born December 15, 1959, Ron dedicated his life to hard work, family, and faith. From the age of 14, Ron worked in hardwood floors, and his passion and pride in his craft never wavered throughout his life. He built a reputation for his exceptional work ethic, attention to detail, and care for those around him.
Known for his kindness, patience, and generosity, Ron was a beloved father, grandfather, husband, brother, and friend. His calming energy, strong values, and infectious positive attitude left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him. Ron’s Hawaiian shirts became a signature of his unique personality, as did his love for Chiefs football, fishing, and cooking. He found joy in life’s simple pleasures and shared that joy with those he loved.
Ron took an active role in the lives of his grandchildren, always offering life advice and showing unwavering support for their activities. His love and dedication to his family were evident in everything he did. He lived his life guided by the principles of service and love, following the example set by Christ. You can be sure he’s found a special fishing hole in Heaven.
Ron is survived by his loving wife, Kathy Hansen; sons Broc Hansen and Austin Hansen (spouse Maggie Lundy); daughter Ally Wager (spouse Caleb Wager); granddaughters Elliyanna and Emoria Wager; and his brother Mitch Hansen. He is predeceased by his son David and his mother Janette.
The family would like to extend heartfelt gratitude to their neighbors, who offered support during his passing, as well as to the first responders and EMTs from Lee’s Summit, who did everything they could for him.
A celebration of Ron’s life will be held March 8th at Deerbrook Covenant Church, 200 NE Tudor Rd Lee’s Summit, MO 64086. Visitation is at 1pm, Service at 2pm with (no grave side service). Dessert, coffee and fellowship to follow.
