The Lee’s Summit based non-profit organization, Suburban Balance is mobilizing the community for a great cause…to increase community engagement around quality education.
The event will take place Aug. 6, 2022 at 10 a.m. at New Generation Church located at 800 NW Commerce Dr. in Lee’s Summit.
Come hear from area school superintendents and chief equity officers from school districts across the metro. Parents, community leaders, students, educators and the community at large are all invited to a community wide event that promotes quality education. Come be the change that you seek for your child’s education.
The summit will also educate the community on ways you can get more involved in your child’s education. Advocacy comes in many forms, come learn about a variety of opportunities to advocate for quality education.
The summit will also educate on the importance of voting, share an initiative that educates on what it takes to run for school board and more. You will also hear from a panel of women of who took part in a 6-month virtual series that brought black and white women together to discuss racial justice and the importance of building allies.
Finally, Suburban Balance will present crucial research survey data findings along with an enlightening documentary on how students and parents define quality education.
School Board Members, School faculty, administrators, parents, students and the community at large all across the metro are all invited to attend this free educational summit. Light refreshments will be served.
