Summit Christian Academy (SCA) is pleased to announce that ninth grade student Garrett Gordon was selected to attend the Missouri Rotary Youth Leadership Academy (RYLA) being held at the University of Central Missouri (UCM) in Warrensburg this summer. RYLA is for incoming high school sophomores, juniors, and seniors who exhibit a heart for community service. Garrett was nominated for the leadership academy and completed an essay and interview process.
The Missouri RYLA program introduces Rotary’s “Service Above Self” philosophy with a 4-day, 3-night program which includes a leadership assessment, a day of professional team building, and a two-day service project simulation. The Missouri program has been recognized by Rotary International as one of the model RYLA programs in the world.
