City Hall has received many calls in regards to the Fireworks stand located at south east corner of Colbern Road and Lake Lotawana Drive (Gate #2).

The Fireworks stand is not in the city limits. It is located in unincorporated Jackson County and regulated by Jackson County. The city has no jurisdiction over that parcel of land. 

The Selling and Use of fireworks in the City of Lake Lotawana are illegal.

Section 210.2180 Sale, Use, Etc., Prohibited — Exceptions.

A. 
No person shall sell or manufacture fireworks within the City of Lake Lotawana, Missouri, at any time.
B. 
No person shall use or display any fireworks.
C. 
This Section shall not apply to public demonstrations or displays of fireworks; provided, however, that such demonstrations or displays of fireworks shall be permitted only after a valid special permit therefor has been issued by the City as set forth herein.
