Theresa L. (Tess) Pool was born on New Year’s Eve in 1952 to Lyle and Marjorie (Wragge) Herbolsheimer in Tilden, NE. She passed on March 1, 2025 while in hospice at the Port Charlotte Rehab Center in Port Charlotte, FL due to Parkinson’s related complications. She was 72.

She graduated from Elkhorn Valley High School in Tilden, NE and then earned a degree at Grand Island Business College. She began a lifelong career in banking and mortgage loans, retiring in 2020.

She married Greg Pool on May 2nd, 1987 of whom she leaves behind. In addition, survivors include their daughter Christine (Shane) Benigni of Olathe, KS, brother Mike (Lori) Herbolsheimer of Tilden NE, Marla (Lee) Benson of Duncan Lakes NE, and Audrey (Dave) Frickel of Lincoln NE, granddaughter, great grandson and many nieces and nephews and her “partner in mischief” Marquita Hancock.

Tess was a very social person and enjoyed traveling, planning and hosting parties and game night playing Left, Right Center. She was an excellent cook and made the best costumes, whether it be for Halloween or a special event. She also loved golfing, the Kansas City Chiefs and the Royals. She is credited with starting “Smokin on the Point” BBQ contest at Lake Winnebago, MO, where she lived for many years.

As per her wishes, she was cremated under the direction of National Cremation Society in Port Charlotte. FL. There will be celebrations of life at later date.
