Children should not have to experience abuse or neglect, but sadly, many do. CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) helps these young people navigate the court system and foster care. Over 1000 children are being helped by Jackson County CASA. CASA recruits, trains, and supports these adult volunteers to advocate for the best interests of children who are in the Jackson County Family Court system until they have a safe and permanent home.

That’s why Keith & Wanda Davenport, directors of IBD Promotions, and the promoters of the ‘Tis the Season Art & Craft Show have chosen CASA to be the charity for this event. At the show, you will see a corner of the stage that will be dedicated to collecting donations to support the children and volunteers who are helping the community in this very needed way.

At the show you will step into a wonderland of handcrafted treasures. Explore over 100 booths of unique items from delicate ornaments to knit scarves. Unique pieces you can’t find in big-box stores. Admission is free, so bring the whole family for a day of wonder and delight.

And Santa and Mrs. Claus will be there, spreading cheer from noon to 3:00 on Saturday.

Visit the show on Friday, Dec. 6 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday, Dec. 7 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Pavilion at John Knox Village is located at 520 NW Murray Road in Lee’s Summit.
