To whom it may concern,

I am a long-time resident of Lee’s Summit. I was fortunate to raise my children in this wonderful community. This community has grown rapidly and experienced much change. With change, comes more change and that is what is needed for our school district and community now. As a resident, it has been disappointing to see some of the negative press. We need a school board who is not afraid of change, who can set our community up for success and continue to make Lee’s Summit the progressive, growing, inclusive community it should be.

With that said, I feel Michael McMenus would be the LSR7 School Board member we need. We have known Michael for over 10 years as a neighbor and our children attending school together. He has raised his children in this school district and has been very involved with the schools throughout. Michael is aware of the growth in our community, along with projected growth. Recently, the community went through boundary redistricting, but that is not enough. This did not correct all the current and forthcoming growth challenges our community is experiencing. Michael has ideas for working with developers to help us with this problem. Michael wants diversity in our teacher population to help us with our achievement gap. We also need to have the right superintendent for our schools

We cannot have people on our school board who cannot make the tough decisions or go with the status quo. Michael can do this for our community. I am encouraging people to join me on April 2 and vote for Michael McMenus for LSR7 School Board
